After the Broncos punted near the end of the third quarter during their matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders, Fox cameras showed Payton trying to coach Nix up. In response, an animated Nix pushed back on Payton’s coaching in a way we don’t often see from very young signal-callers:

After intercepting a Gardner Minshew pass and returning it 100 yards for a touchdown, Denver Broncos cornerback Pat Surtain also grabbed an interception off Aidan O’Connell after Minshew was benched on Sunday. After his first 11-yard run, Minshew had a Broncos’ pass rusher coming right at him up the middle. Minshew threw it up downfield where tight end Brock Bowers was jostling for position with Broncos’ safety P.J. Locke. Bowers, not Locke, made the proper move on the ball. Locke turned the wrong way and fell down.

You don’t want to test Pat Surtain II when playing the Denver Broncos. Nothing good usually happens if you do. The Las Vegas Raiders’ Gardner Minshew threw at Surtain and the elite DB picked off the pass and was off and running like a bronco.
