Prince William and Kate Middleton's new home, Forest Lodge, almost went to Princess Anne and her first husband, Captain Mark Phillips, after they married in 1973. The Prince and Princess of Wales will move into the eight-bedroom home by the end of the year.

Luckily, Forest Lodge, the 328-year-old mansion in Windsor Great Park, looks an absolutely ideal spot for the family of five to begin again, with plenty of greenery surrounding it (something the Princess has routinely said is important to her) and more than enough room for the three royal children.

Kate Middleton and Prince William are on the move, inspiring a revisit to their portfolio of royal real estate. Over the weekend, PEOPLE confirmed that the Prince and Princess of Wales, both 43, are moving to a home called Forest Lodge in Windsor.
