COLUMBUS, Ohio — Anticipation is important for quarterbacks, and having played the position before, Ohio State football coach Ryan Day clearly still possesses the trait. In his opening statement during Monday’s press conference, Day got ahead of any questions asking him to comment on the NCAA’s punishment of Michigan for its sign-stealing scandal.

Last week the NCAA made its final ruling on punishments for the infamous Michigan sign-stealing scandal from 2023. To say it was a slap on the wrist would almost be too harsh. The punishment amounted to an easily-payable fine and some similarly-light recruiting restrictions.
