A man has been sentenced to prison for the death of the mother of his children in 2022, according to the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office.

Mesa Sanchez, 37, said she began dating Duran-Maya in 2024 during what she called a “rough patch” in her life. Duran-Maya, who was using the alias “Fernando,” manipulated her and made her scared to leave her home, she said.
