HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A celebration of life will honor Maui County Council member Natalie “Tasha” Kama this week. The celebration takes place Wednesday, Nov. 19, at the Maui Arts and Cultural Center’s Castle Theater. Public visitation begins at 9 a.m. and the service begins at 10:30 a.m. Lunch follows in the Yokouchi Pavilion and Courtyard.

KULA, MAUI (KHON2) — A 21-year-old woman has died after losing control of her vehicle while driving on Holopuni Rd. in Kula. MPD said, around 5:15 p.m. on Nov. 15, the driver was in her white 1998 Toyota 4-Runner, driving westbound on Holopuni Rd.

A man from Mexico in the U.S. illegally since 2011 is facing a federal criminal charge after he was arrested Sept. 21 on suspicion of drunken driving on Maui.

According to the Maui Police Department, a 21-year-old woman was driving west on Holopuni Road in a white 1998 Toyota 4-Runner when she lost control on a left bend in the roadway. The vehicle crossed the centerline, then overcorrected in an attempt to return to the westbound lane.
