KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — The City of Knoxville is getting ahead of potentially dangerous weather, holding a winter weather briefing Friday morning to lay out what you can expect and how to stay safe.

Meteorologists recommend making sure essential gear is ready before the storm arrives. That includes extra batteries, portable chargers and devices to check the weather, as well as a first aid kit and necessary medications. Stocking the pantry ahead of time is also key.
