A new wildfire west of Red Feathers Lakes has prompted mandatory evacuations for some residents in Larimer County Thursday.

The Turner Gulch Fire has burned 31,699 acres and is 80% contained. The Bureau of Land Management has reopened land north of Hwy 141 near Gateway, CO., and areas south of the highway remain closed to public access until the Turner Gulch Fire is contained, according to fire officials.

The Derby Fire is moving quickly in Garfield and Eagle counties, burning almost 1,000 acres between Wednesday night and Thursday morning.

DERBY, Kan. (KSNW) — Firefighters were called to a building fire Thursday night in Derby. The fire was reported around 9:15 p.m. in the 300 block of South Water Avenue, where smoke and flames were visible, according to officials.
