On Friday at 1:06 p.m. a flash flood watch was released by the National Weather Service valid for Saturday, Aug. 23 between 11 a.m. and 11 p.m. for Southern Blue Mountains of Oregon, John Day Basin and Ochoco-John Day Highlands.

CHOSITI, India (AP) — Flash floods triggered by torrential rains have killed over 200 people and left scores others missing in India and Pakistan over the past 24 hours, officials said Friday, as rescuers brought to safety some 1,600 people from two mountainous districts in the neighboring countries.

Most of the deaths, 150, were recorded by disaster authorities in the mountainous Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in northern Pakistan. At least 30 homes were destroyed and a rescue helicopter has also crashed during operations, killing its five crew.
