Carson Hocevar caused a seven-car pileup to open the NASCAR Chicago street race. Hocevar clipped the inside of the turn 11 curve, ricocheting him to the outside wall on turn 11 on lap 3 of the Grant Park 165 street race in Chicago. Hocevar crashed off the outside wall and moved up to the inside before twisting back toward the outside wall.

NASCAR's third trip to Chicago Street Race finally starts with some good weather, but a mistake by Carson Hoecevar red-flagged the race early when he crashed on lap four, in turn 10, and created a log jam in the tightest portion of the street course.

A weekend of racing in the streets of Chicago roars into Sunday for the running of the NASCAR Cup Series Grant Park 165.
