The Patriots are reportedly putting one of their wide receivers out on the trade market ahead of the NFL’s Nov. 5 deadline. In a new story from The Washington Post’s Jason La Canfora about several wide receivers who might be dealt before the deadline, he noted that the Patriots “have let it be known that Tyquan Thornton is available.”

The Washington Post’s Jason La Canfora reported on Friday that the Patriots have made it known to NFL teams that Thornton is available. Former Patriots coach Bill Belichick drafted the former Baylor standout in hopes that his speed and size would translate into a reliable receiving target on the outside.

With Kendrick Bourne nearing a return from the PUP list, New England’s wide receiver depth chart is getting crowded. Bourne will likely shoot to the top, with Pop Douglas, K.J. Osborn and rookie Ja’Lynn Polk getting plenty of snaps. Competing with Javon Baker and Kayshon Boutte near the bottom of the roster, Thornton’s playing time is drying up.
