After much of the United States was pummeled by winter weather over the last week, another storm is poised to impact the East Coast beginning Friday. According to meteorologists, the storm is expected to bring snow, rain and gusty winds from the Gulf Coast to the Northeast, and accumulations could reach disruptive levels in major metro areas.

What will happen?: The forecast could change, and change again, before the weekend. While forecasters are fairly confident that a storm will develop, key details — including its strength, where it will go and how much snow or ice it will deliver — remained uncertain on Tuesday.

After much of the United States was impacted by the recent snowstorm that's been named Winter Storm Fern, many folks are spending their Monday morning shoveling, plowing and hoping for the snow to melt.

The major winter storm blanketed dozens of US states over the weekend, impacting some 180 million people from the Southwest to New England.

Another snowstorm? Forecasters say a nor'easter could arrive next weekend. But for now, “it’s too early to cheer, panic or change any plans."
