The Boston Red Sox paid a visit to the White House, where several players shook hands with President Donald Trump.

A group of Red Sox players spent their off day Thursday at the White House and met President Donald Trump in the Oval Office, according to a video posted to X.

Asked for comment about the visit, a Red Sox spokesperson said the team toured the White House on Thursday as part of their family road trip to Washington, D.C. The Red Sox are in Washington this weekend for a three-game series against the Washington Nationals, which begins on Friday. First pitch for Friday’s opener is scheduled for 11 a.m.
