Akshay Bhatia stormed out to the first-round lead at the FedEx St. Jude Championship with an eight-under 62. Bhatia had the best round at TPC Southwind by multiple strokes until Tommy Fleetwood used an afternoon surge to get to seven-under.

The first round of the FedEx St. Jude Championship wrapped up with a surprising name at the top of the leaderboard.
