The monster winter storm that New York City and the Tri-State Area have been bracing for is here, as heavy snow and sleet develop Sunday.
After much of the United States was pummeled by winter weather over the last week, another storm is poised to impact the East Coast beginning Friday. According to meteorologists, the storm is expected to bring snow, rain and gusty winds from the Gulf Coast to the Northeast, and accumulations could reach disruptive levels in major metro areas.

Mayor Zohran Mamdani said classes would be remote, not canceled, after a winter storm covered the city in nearly a foot of snow.
A 16-year-old girl was killed in a sledding accident, as eight people have been confirmed dead in New York since Friday.
