“Lerchengesang” (Lark’s Song) is one of the most moving and vulnerable songs for voice Brahms has written. The intro creates a very atmospheric energy before the voice comes in and prepares the listener for something nostalgic that’s about to come. The song is originally written for piano and voice but on this recording I was so eager to try some of Brahms’s songs with harp because of the delicacy of the text and music. The harp is such a delicate instrument that also has incredible depth, and w
