Disposable diaper companies have a huge incentive to delay potty training, and they’ve spent decades working hard to convince parents to do exactly that. In the 1950’s, most kids were potty trained by 18 months. Today, that average has DOUBLED to 3 YEARS, largely due to aggressive marketing from Big Diaper.
